Class II Systems are for use by trained building occupants.
One benefit of standpipe fire hose stations is that there is minimal water damage.
Class I Systems are for use by fire departments and those trained with heavy water streams.
Stand approximately 5-8 feet from the fire when the hose is discharging.
The first step is to pull the hose entirely off the rack.
The fire department is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the fire hose station.
Standpipe and hose systems do not take the place of an automatic extinguishing system.
There are four classes of standpipe systems.
The nozzle should be aimed at the base of the fire.
